Whether you are new to BDSM or play an active lifestyle you need to know that safety is very important. Everything that you indulge in should be completely consensual and fun for all parties involved. BDSM can be exciting in many aspects including physically, mentally, and sexually, which can help to strengthen a relationship or bring fire back to the bedroom but you need to be aware of safety issues, so no one involved gets hurt. Any type of activity that causes pain can also be dangerous if not monitored correctly.
Whether you are participating in bondage, discipline, or a new sexual act there needs to be restraint, a line in which you should never cross that would physically or mentally scar those involved. Along with learning how to stay safe with BDSM you need to always discuss everything in the beginning with any new partners, that way you know where you can and cannot go. This will help to keep things fun and safe at the same time. Limits should always be set regardless of your role in the relationship especially in a Dom/Sub or Master/slave since there will be different forms of punishment. You should never be pushed to limits that you are not comfortable with. BDSM activities should be fun and enjoyable for all parties involved.
